Every single time one of us interacts with a plant with honor, I am convinced that something happens. I am totally convinced that if enough of us envisioned the 'powers' behind the genetic manipulation coming to their senses and standing up at some meeting and saying "I think we'd better RE-THINK this", it just might begin to happen. So, if as you walk along, you now NOTICE the plantains in the lawns and instead of hating them as 'weeds', you think as you see them that they are valuable, healing plants....well. who knows what might begin to happen? Remember, there are many, MANY more of us gardeners and plant observers than there are of 'them'.........and if our cultivated plants are NOT able to adapt to what is being done to them, then BELIEVE ME, these scrappy weeds I keep teaching you all about are going to become increasingly important to us, squirrels.
