Christmas probably has people asking you about your wedding registry. Where did you choose to register? Did you pick out crystal and china or tools and Tupperware?
Couples tend to have mixed feelings about registering. Some see it as the ultimate Christmas morning, "I want this, and this, and this..." I read recently about a bride who enjoyed the scanner so much while registering at Target that she even signed up for garbage bags. Others don't want to appear greedy or ask for things that may be out of their guests reach financially. Both are valid views. However, there are a few things to remember that may help. A registry does help your guests. You may have out of town family that remembers you as a cute little ponytailed girl. Closer friends and family may try and determine what you (or they) want in your new home--leaving you with six toasters, three mixers, and a handful of coffee makers. You may also want to keep in mind that a shorter list means you are more likely to get the things you really want! Choosing where to register can also be a difficult decision. Don't be shy about choosing more than one place to register (but let's not go overboard here). If you're having a small local wedding, you have your choice of pretty much any store. For larger weddings, you should choose at least one national chain or catalogue. Since you're already online, you can also use these resources. Wordsworth Books For booklovers, this is a fabulous idea! GourmetMarket If you are setting up a gourmet kitchen, this could be your dream site. Town & Country Wedding Registering here also gives you a chance at a free honeymoon. American Bridal Registry This site will set up a registry for you including items from anywhere--all mixed up together. They do charge for anything over ten items. However, if you're looking at items from a hodgepodge of stores, this may be worth a look. Wedding Registries Register online for any of these Internet mall stores.
