A NonAlcoholic Wedding - Can it Be Done?

More and more couples are opting for nonalcoholic receptions. Reasons range from cost to consideration of alcoholic relatives to religion to even legal issues with drivers leaving the reception. Below are some tips to help make sure your guests don't even notice the absence of alcohol.

1. Plan your wedding early in the day. A lunch reception is more likely to serve drinks with no alcohol. Guests who feel the need to drink can go out later at night.

2. Offer desserts and punch for your reception food. The two go well together and are self serve which saves money and generally results in happy guests who are not spending the night waiting in line.

3. Try a coffee bar with espresso, cappuccino, mochas and more. Your guests will be having so much fun trying the delicious drinks, they won't care that there's no alcohol in them.

4. Don't worry about your reason for skipping the alcohol, and don't drag your guests in either. "We decided it wasn't necessary" is a perfectly reasonable explanation.

5. Encourage your guests to have fun by having fun yourself. Nothing dampens a party like a bride and groom who aren't having the time of their lives. Your attitude will be contagious.
