Wedding Favors

'Fess up — how many wedding favors have you kept for more than a week beyond the wedding? Still, most future brides and groom spend much time and grey matter on the choosing of party favors. Luckily, the Internet gives you a slight edge — less travelling, no pushy salespeople, up-front pricing. Let's see what's out there.

Candles

Eight-inch tapers personalized for your wedding. While your guests won't keep these forever, they will most likely use them and think of you. These make a nice twist on the personalized matchbooks, wine bottles etc. $.90-1.30 per candle.

Seedlings

Plants of any kind make great favors. Check with local nurseries for bulk discounts on ivy, seedlings or bulbs. These seedlings make a memorable gift if they are taken home and planted. Keep in mind that they won't be prctical for weddings with lots of out of town guests or many apartment dwellers. $1.85-2.25.

Fortune Cookies

These are acrylic cookies with your wishes tucked inside — attractive and different. Of course, real edible cookies would be fun also! E-mail for a free sample before you make your decision. $1.85+.

Don't forget that this is your wedding — a personal gift that isn't traditional will mean the most to you and your guests. Need a jumpstart? We used sparklers for our outdoor reception. They didn't last long, but everyone remembers!
