What are the advantages of shopping Online?

Convenience for one thing. You can browse through hundreds of pages of catalogs, read articles and even email questions to suppliers. The orders are shipped right to your door and if you have problems the answers are probably just an email away.

Variety is another upside to online shopping. If one site doesn't have what you want, another probably will.

Prices can be very competitive from online suppliers. (But do remember to figure in shipping!)

What are the disadvantages? You don't know whom you are dealing with. If you buy locally, you know the supplier's reputation, you know who they are. Perhaps more important they know you, so they will try to keep you happy. Most online suppliers will also go the extra mile to keep you as a customer, but there are a few scoundrels out there, so do your homework before you order.

Sometimes I send in a small order just to see how prompt they are and to establish some kind of relationship before I send in major money.
