Road Trip East to a Couple of Lakeslooks like a beautiful community. Riverside Park is a must-see. There's the Spokane River, an interpretive center about the lives of the Spokane Indians at http://www.riversidestatepark.org/spokan... , an off-road-vehicle riding area, and equestrian center, camping, picnicking, a paved Centennial trail that goes 37 miles to the Idaho border from Nine Mile Falls, etc. The link tells all. My husband has been fishing in some of the other lakes. Opening day was April 27 so I'm a little late with information here, but you can get what you need at http://wdfw.wa.gov/fish/regs/fishregs.htm , if you need fishing information for the rest of this fishing season. I suspect those of you who fish already know what the scoop is. Hope your fishing season started well. You may enjoy reading some of the fishing reports on some of the lakes in northeast Washington at: http://washingtonlakes.com/ . Check out Spokane, Pend Oreille, Ferry and Lincoln counties. Some other lakes in the area are: Waitts Lake, Deer Lake, Diamond Lake, Calispell Lake, Sullivan Lake, Newman Lake, Liberty Lake, Medical Lake, Badger Lake, Williams Lake, Sacheen Lake, Twin Lakes, Curlew Lake, Eloika Lake and Downs Lake. I'm sure I missed a bunch. Get a map and check them out. Hope you enjoyed this little trek east. As I mentioned, this is a tip of the iceberg of what I could cover in northeast Washington, but it's a start. Copyright 2002 Jerri Brooker
