Places to Go and Things to Do in 2002 - Part VI


If you don't have a significant other this can be a great way to spend your day supporting the efforts of a runner and getting involved in a great runner's community. If you're a runner, then by all means, participate in the run at whatever level you're at.

Support a runner!

If you're more into giving gifts than doing things get creative and make a gift that will be totally surprising and well received.

Build a Basket

Be creative this year and fill a basket with all the things you know your loved one likes: candy, chocolate, wine, cookies, books, jewelry, movie tickets, a coupon to a favorite restaurant, a painting from you, a love poem, a new fishing reel - you name it! If you just happen to be in the Yakima Valley area there's a class to help you out, the Valentine Basket Making Class in Paterson. To get in on the fun sign up at Columbia Crest Winery. If you're thinking you're not that creative, you can get pretty paper or plastic and ribbon at the store to wrap it in. And you don't have to spend a lot on a basket - it's the thought that counts.

You don't have to live in Washington State to do this, so it's an idea you all may want to entertain wherever you live. Be sure to add some great Washington State products in it, too! I've done a few articles here on Washington State shopping. Search my Christmas articles for suggestions.
