Naturally, the book came out of my volunteer activities. Joe LaTourrette, the original author, asked me to co-author the book and provide photographs, and then asked me to take over. I added a natural history co-author/editor, Janet O’Mara, Falcon Publishing concurred, and my new career was born.

Q: Where can folks get more information about your book or photography?

A: The book is published by Falcon Publishing http://www.falconbooks.com/ , now part of The Globe Pequot Press. It will be available in all major retail outlets and online sites in late July. For a preview, go to http://www.sunnywalter.com/ to see the book description, table of contents, author bios, and book signing schedule. While you are there, be sure to explore all four areas of my Web site:

· Nature Weekends: where and when to experience seasonal nature events, links to other “where-to-view nature” Web sites, Washington Nature Weekends book information.

· Nature Resources: nature subjects guide (birds, mammals, wildflowers, etc.); links to Washington State birding and native plant societies; links to government resources (national, state, and local parks, forests, and wildlife areas).

· Nature Photography: Sunny’s on-line photo gallery; links to 49 other on-line nature photography portfolios; local nature photography gallery announcements.

· Environment: environmental photography projects; links to 100’s of environmental organizations; environmental photography exchange.

Thanks, Sunny, for the interview.

My only disappointment is the photos are in black-and-white! Very useful info, though, as far as seasonal experiences.
