Picking Up the Pieces - After the Earthquake

Headlines roll on. "Quake-related Permit Fees Mixed." "Crack Widens on Henderson Blvd." "Geology Teacher Gives Quake Talk." "Eagle Nest Survives Earthquake." And I suspect on-and-on through the end of the month, at least, we will still read more.

But I also see how resilient people are, though some aren't. Rumors fly - like another quake, much shallower, will hit next week. Some get emotional and expect the worst. I shrug rumors off and go on. This is the price of living in the Pacific Northwest. I'll take an earthquake over a tornado or hurricane of huge proportions any day.

It goes with the territory.
