Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! I'm sharing my favorite holiday dessert recipes with Washington grown ingredients (pumpkin and cranberries). Hope you enjoy them.
Here's my favorite: Pumpkin Pie Squares Combine and mix until crumbly: 1 cup flour Press into 9x13" pan and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Meanwhile mix together and beat well: 1 lb. can pumpkin Pour over crust and continue baking at 350 degrees for 20 more minutes. Mix together: 1/2 cup chopped nuts Sprinkle over the filling after the second baking and bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes more. Cool and serve with whipping cream or whipped topping. Keeps well and freezes nicely, too. Tastes every bit as yummy as pumpkin pie.
This is a nice steamed pudding that's really easy to make: Steamed Cranberry Pudding 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries Mix ingredients and pour into a greased 8-inch square pan. Steam in the oven over another pan of hot water at 350 degrees for 1-1/2 hours. Cool, cut into squares and serve with the following sauce: Dessert Sauce 1 cup sugar Melt butter. Add sugar and stir until dissolved. Stir in cream and vanilla until warmed. May your table be full, your heart warm and your friends and family abundant. I wish you a wonderful holiday and many more to come. May your slippers be warm when all is said and done! Copyright 2000 Jerri Brooker Art licensed to me by Arttoday.com
