MEMORIAL DAY EVENTS

If you have energy left after all your thinking, you may want to attend one of these Memorial Day events in Washington if you don't already have firm plans:

The grand opening of the Black Mountain Forestry Center starts its public life with a "World of Wood Festival" May 27-29 near Silver Lake Park, Maple Falls, Washington, in the Mt. Baker foothills. Woodworkers, music and fun await families who help usher in this new forestry educational center which includes a museum, logging demo site, historic sawmill, forestry library and info center, and self-guided or pre-arranged forestry tours. Live raptors will be visiting the event!

Dayton, WA, is home to its 100th-year-plus Dayton Days Festival: Paramutel horseracing, a rodeo, a parade and a fun run will capture your attention over the three-day week-end.
