Holiday Shopping on the Internet

Goodies, giggles and gilded gifts galore - that's what I've been looking for!

As the holiday season nears I'm visting Washington State websites to give you some ideas for your holiday season. I am not involved with any of the retailers or products; I just thought this would be a nice gift to you, the reader: a list of a few places in Washington State that may have your holiday wishes at hand.

It's not too late to shop on the internet and you don't have to brave the crowds to do it. I still like to mingle with the crowds and get into the Christmas spirit, but Internet shopping is the second best thing next to the real thing. Whatever holiday you celebrate, these places may make your shopping easier.

So here I go.

Most of us already know about Amazon.com, the online Seattle-based bookstore. Did you know they have expanded their product lines to include toys, sports gear, techno gifts, Sotheby's goods and the inclusion of a great shopper search engine? Jeff Bezos of Seattle has done it up good for your holiday shopping. They are quick to ship, so there's still time to get your Christmas wishes in the mail. I don't work for them, folks. I just like their service.

Redmond based Rick Merlin Levine has penned "The Gift of the Magi" for your holiday enjoyment. Go here to learn about his book and how it came to be. You can order at his site or use his Amazon.com link. I have not seen the book, but it looks promising as something different for the holiday season. He says it's suitable for any religion.

Looking to order wine for somebody special? Try this Seattle firm, Pike and Western Wine Shop. Email them with your request. They only ship to certain states. Be sure to check if your state is included before you get too interested in ordering. State liquor laws are a puzzle. Don't even try to order if you do not live in the states listed.

For a little more in-depth searching of where to get Washington wines, see MikeL's List. He puts a good site together in his spare time as a hobby. You'll find reviews and addresses. You can even find a map if you want to visit them yourself.

Don't forget those great Aplets and Cotlets and all the new varieties of Washington State fruit candy (including sugar free) available online to United States buyers at the Liberty Orchards shopping site. Apples are the base of most of the candy made in Cashmere, Washington.
