Wandering around the state seeing different places has been fun (and I can't wait until next week to take you to another exciting spot), but today I am going to focus on some folks around the state: the people are who make this state what it is. Meet some of our residents through their personal or business websites. (If you aren't listed here and want to be, please let me know. I'm always ready to showcase Washington State folks every chance I get.)
We all are familiar with Bill Gates. Visit his personal website and see the man behind Microsoft. There's more to Bill Gates than his company! And don't forget to also go to Paul Allen's website to see what Bill's partner is all about. These two billionaires have a strong presence in this state. Another billionaire with a strong presence is the founder of Amazon.Com: Jeff Bezos. Read about him and this amazing company. Washington State is made of more than billionaires, however. We come from all walks of life, and have many interests and professions. We are pretty much outdoor folks. These outdoor folks have fun: Jason Coke, Lowell and Sean Shields, Leann Trevor and Stan Weller are winners at Disc Golf. Know what it is? It's like traditional golf, but players use a flying disc! You can see them at parks and around the state. Visit the national association for more information after you check out these Washington State winners. Jean Enersenand Dennis Bounds are my two favorite news anchors in Seattle. They keep me up-to-date on local news. They launched high definition television (HDTV) on their news show last Thursday. At Suite 101 Anne Johnson is the contributing editor of Women and Creativity; she's also a Washington State resident (while not RV'ing about!). Check out her site. And though she's not currently a resident of our state, Maria Christensen grew up here. She is Suite 101 contributing editor of Asian History. Terrie Bittner, Suite 101 Women's History contributing editor, lived here three years - just enough time to catch the Washington "bug," our zest for life here. Washington produces the best, hm?!! (Okay, I admit I am a bit prejudiced!!) We are also home to the National Nurse of the Year, Charla Dunham from the small town of Tenino. The National Association of School Nurses chose Charla from all the nurses nominated across the nation. She practices her magic touch on over 1,500 students in the Tenino School District.
