Poetry and the Blue Moon in SeattleMy husband was a student at the nearby University of Washington in the 60's but this would not have been his hangout; he was an engineering major and not into the arts scene, although he did like beer. Had I known about the Blue Moon I would have been tempted to go there, but I was busy raising two young daughters in Bremerton and putting him through college. I wish I had been a part of this past literary culture. Oh, well. I leave you with this journal writing on the Blue Moon for a bit of nostalgia. It was a place where poetry, song and author's works found an audience. It's still in existence today and you might hear rock songs inside the door rather than poetry. Fascinating place. A good place for poetry to live in history. Copyright 2005 Jerri Brooker
