2004 was a great year in Washington State. I look forward to introducing you to new places in 2005 - but first, let's look at some of the places we've been this past year. All of these places have something to do with water, of which Washington State has a lot.
Where would we be without Washington Scenic Byways? The roads in this state are well maintained to get you to where you want to go. It's even better if you find enjoyment in sights undiscovered along the way. To get to the water experiences in Washington, usually some driving is required. And oh, the scenery you will see! As you're driving to your destination, take stock that others find this state lucrative not only for the experiences it offers, but for its great scenery and opportunity. Read about movies filmed in Washington, Location, Location, Location. We have a bit of everything: mountains, beaches, forest, desert, canyons, farmlands, and on and on. It's enjoyable to watch a movie and realize you have been in some of the scenes. All this scenery reminds me of home, so I head toward the northwest. I love Port Angeles. It's my hometown and sure has a lot to offer folks. It's especially nice that you can catch a ferry across The Strait of Juan de Fuca and end up in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Port Angeles is a beautiful Puget Sound town. Traveling on to a place near another body of water, it was a pleasure to meet Suite101.com writer, Gregg Pasterick, in Nahcotta this year at the Moby Dick Hotel and Oyster Farm at Nahcotta. Gregg writes about wildflowers and has been touring the state in search of them. Fascinating guy. I enjoyed Nahcotta near the Pacific Ocean. The many waters off Washington always hold a bit of pleasure for me, like the San Juans - if you haven't been and want the Washington experience, you really must. Since I'm on the subject of water, there's another delightful place to visit: Lake Quinault. Check out this wonderful place to be in the forest near a lake. It's a most beautiful place. Well, I'm done floating about for now. Washington certainly has more to offer by the water or otherwise. If you want to read more Washington State articles and share where I've been, then go to http://www.suite101.com/articles.cfm/was... - happy trekking! Drop me a line in the discussion area if you get a chance. I'd love to hear about your experiences in Washington.
