Bombard
An early form of short barrelled cannon first used in the 14th century.

Couluevrine (snake
A longer barrelled cannon (compared to the bombard) used from the mid to late 14th century.

Crapaudeaux (toad)
Primitive breech-loading cannon used in the late 14th century.

Veuglaire (fowler)
Large breech loading cannon of late 14th century.

Couluevrine à main
Early form of hand-held gun/miniature cannon used in late 14th century France.

Handgonne
Early English hand-held gun.

Sclopi
Late 14th to early 15th century hand -held gun. Also known as sclopetti.
