Currently, there are already companies producing products to support WAP. The best resource on the Internet to learn about WAP is the WAP Forum, http://www.wapforum.org. This forum was started by groups of companies that feel WAP will be the next killer network application. Player such as, Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia, Phone.com, and Microsoft have already joined the forum. These companies are at the front line to push the wireless network to the next level. In future articles, we will certainly follow the industry trends and discuss any interesting events.
Can WAP be the next application that rock the computing world? I bet yes! (Well, it is what my job is about...) I will be here to bring you all the news, the trends, and issues. In my next article I will talk about a few of the WAP enabled devices. Until next time!
