March 2001: An Exciting News MonthEMI Records announces that Wallflowers' manager, Andy Slater, has been named as Capitol Records' President & CEO ("http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/20010327..."). This news causes concern to Wallflowers fans over who will manage the band after Slater leaves for Capitol Records. "We've been partners for a long time," says Slater, "but my business relationship with these people will now end, I imagine." Yahoo News reports that the Wallflowers will remain with Slater's partner, Howard Kaufman, at HK Management. On a happier note, the Boston Herald reports that the Wallflowers have already recorded a track for a CD of Smokey Robinson songs ("http://www.bostonherald.com/entertainmen..."). The article notes that Phil Collins and Steve Miller also recorded tracks for the CD. Joan Osborne is ready to record. And Bob Dylan may record a track as well. If these March reports are correct, April will be an exciting month for Wallflowers fans. Let's hope that, besides the TV commercial and Spring tour to look forward to, the Wallflowers will release their music video for "Letters from the Wasteland" and make some more television appearances.
