Names from Wales - Girls from A-G,

This next series of four articles will be dedicated to Welsh names. While by no means will this list be complete, I have tried to find names that are Welsh in their origins. The names are both reflective of the old and new, some no doubt will have you scratching your head. But they are truly the names of Wales.

I wish to dedicate this series to my good friend Julia Taylor, who inspired these articles; and to her son Kyle, who is and has shown great courage through personal adversity.

This article is for girls names from A-G. Next week it will be the boy’s turn! Hope you find a name you like, and if one of these names graces a new life, please accept my congratulations on your new arrival!

Below you will see the name and the meaning as interpreted from Welsh.
