But Why Volunteer? In this site, I hope to highlight interesting and creative opportunities where you can put your skills and energy to work as a volunteer. I'm especially on the lookout for those where you can involve your children -- or provide a role model to other children. Most volunteer activities do NOT require specialized skills, so much as they require a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, a touch of creativity, a bit of flexibility, and the ability to find joy in helping others. Volunteer opportunities are there to fill an hour, or days, or weeks. It's up to you to find one that fits your time availability, and fulfills your interests. It's waiting there for you. I'm here to help you find it. And when you do find it, you'll be glad you did. I promise.
