Grouping Vitamins
Vitamins and Minerals need each other to work. One does not work without another. They need balance to work effectively. Too much of some things can be bad for you: - Too much phosphorus can cost you calcium. - Too much copper and you can deplete your zinc. - Too much sodium and you can lose potassium. - Too much zinc and you can suffer iron and copper loss. - Too much vitamin D can raise calcium levels too high. - Too much vitamin C can cost you B12 and folic acid. - Too much vitamin choline can cause B6 deficiency. Just as too much of some vitamins can cause a deficiency in another vitamin, some vitamins should not be taken with others: - Vitamin A should not be taken with mineral oil. - Vitamin C should not be taken with ginseng. - Vitamin E should not be taken with inorganic iron (ferrous sulfate) or chlorine. A lot of supplements work much more efficiently when taken with other vitamins: - Vitamin A works best with B complex, vitamin D, vitamin E, calcium, phosphorus, and zinc. - Vitamin D works best with vitamin A, vitamin C, choline, calcium, and phosphorus. - Vitamin E works best with B complex, inositol, vitamin C, and magnesium. - Folic Acid works best with B complex and vitamin C. - Niacin works best with vitamin B1, vitamin B2, and vitamin C. - Vitamin B1 (thiamin) works best with B complex, B2, folic acid, niacin, vitamin C, and vitamin E. - Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) works best with vitamin B6, vitamin C, and niacin. - Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) works best with vitamin B1, vitamin B2. - Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) works best with vitamin B6, vitamin C, folic acid, choline, inositol, and potassium. - Calcium works best with vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin D, iron, magnesium, and phosphorus. - Phosphorus works best with calcium, vitamin A, vitamin D, iron, and manganese. - Iron works best with vitamin B12, folic acid, vitamin C, and calcium. - Magnesium works best with vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin D, calcium, and phosphorus. - Zinc works best with vitamin A, calcium, and phosphorus.
