Scrooge McWallace's Guide to Frugal Garden Shopping
Now my own theory is that it really doesn't matter what it cost - as long as it's of good quality and something they will use and love. So I am quite careful to remove all price tags. Not that I am buying cheap stuff for my gifts. I like quality too. It's just that I shop carefully. My biggest high of all when it comes to shopping is getting something great for a song. And if I can get it for a song without having to bundle up and go outside and spend gas money and energy shopping - I'm very, very happy. And this Christmas I am very, very happy. Because all of my shopping will be done right here in front of my computer - and most of it at bargain prices. The advantages to on-line shopping are many. While some people are still nervous about using credit cards, the companies using secure servers are very secure. You risk only as much as you do phoning in a mail order, or handing your card to a store clerk. Use a debit card and you won't even have to deal with interest. Companies that have their catalog online often offer specials for Internet customers only. They can afford to do this because they don't have to pay to have advertisements printed and mailed out; and because it is really easy for them to quickly offer items that they may be overstocked with at reduced prices to web customers. It's very cost-effective for them. Finally - the Internet is pure heaven for those who like to shop around and compare prices. And there are very few things that you won't be able to find and purchase somewhere on the web. SO this week I decided to share some of my favorite places to bargain hunt with you. All have gifts for gardeners - but you may find gifts for others as well. Mainly for Gardeners Some online garden stores have either bargain basements or clearance centers that offer some great gifts at good prices - up to 75% off in some cases. Here are a few good ones - and some not so great.
