Gardeners and Non-Gardenerssoil it wanted. Last night, in all earnestness, I heard him advising a newlywed friend that they really needed to plant white nicotiana to enjoy in the evening after work. And he used the Latin name! Maybe next week he'll give me my hose back just in time to drain the watering system for the year. By the time we reach retirement, I suspect we'll be gardening side by side. And then we'll both quake at the thought that this "real gardener" might be coming to visit soon. Because one thing gardeners never seem to learn is that they see the way other real gardeners see, and that love of the plant and the growing is all that really matters.
