A month in Provence : Pt 1 The Adventure Begins
Our friends Donna and Wayne Naughty have already arrived so after unpacking, we walk to “The Authentic Pizza” one of three restaurants in the town. We are to discover that in France, Pizza restaurants serve pizza baked in a wood fired oven, but they also serve a full menu of pasta, meat and desserts. I finally am able to order Carbonara, one of my favorite pasta dishes, which I could not find on a single menu, the whole month we were in Tuscany. The "Authentic" also has morning coffee au lait, etc and sells bread, as there are no shops, bakeries etc in the village. The food is excellent and the owner is quite a character. We are soon to become regulars. Things are looking up.
On our short walk home,it starts to rain and soon becomes a deluge with horrendous rolling thunder and fork lightning. Little do we know that this is just a precursor to another adventure. Till next time
