Then it's on to Anne of Green Gables Museum at Silver Bush, Park Corner. It is said and written that Lucy Maude spent many happy hours visiting this place. There are many artifacts, photos and she was married here in the small living room. Hundreds of fans come each year to be married in said room. Many specific descriptions of this place are in her novels, including the shinning waters. There is a lovely little tea room and of course a Gift shop with many of the "Anne" products that include everything from pottery to dolls, books, to linens and even chocolates. My aunt and mother really enjoy these Anne visits. We continued our drive and soon spot Avonlea, a theme park village with replicas of the buildings from the set of the movie Anne of Green Gables and school Lucy Maude attended. Anne and her best friend Diana are there to greet you. You may take a horse and buggy ride, buy a fresh home made cookie, take in a show or skit, and see the jobs and every day life, crafts and artifacts of another time. Of course their is shopping in the gift shop. you guessed it, for Anne products. We drop in for a quick visit, a cookie and photo opportunity. Anne it appears is very big business here. I also saw her products in gift shops in the Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and across the country in British Columbia. But there is more to Anne's land than Anne. There are many outdoor activities, golf, tennis, trail rides, watersides, biking, windsurfing, camping. Deep sea fishing is also available. Cabot s Beach Provincial Park, has excellent facilities for both the day tripper and camper. This recreation area was the setting for " Emily of New Moon," tv series. Another must is the St. Mary's church dsigned in the 1800s by William Critchlow. Check the schedule for concert series there in the summer months. It is located in Indian River A lobster supper at St Ann's is a real treat! It is situated in Anne's land at Hope River. What started out in a few parishes as small, local, fund raising suppers , has turned into a tourist industry, where the church hall has turned into a restaurant from12-2, 4-9pm summer and fall.
