Palm Springs: More things to do.

The desert communities collectively called Palm Springs have a plethora of festivials, art shows, fairs, horseshows and even pow wows.

For the plane buff, there is the Palm Springs Aviation Museum, with the largest collection of WW 11 planes in the world, the Desert museum with permanent collections and travelling art exhibits, natural science galleries, discovery for kids and the Annenberg theatre of the performing arts.

If you crave a little adventure, try a jeep tour, in the rugged outback, along ancient Indian paths or through a forest of windmills. Perhaps you'd like to watch the sunrise or sunset from a hot air balloon. This is available and ofcourse champagne is included in the price of flying.

Not exactly flying but getting up there is the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. These 80 passenger Trams ascend 12,800 feet in just 15 minutes. The view is astounding and on the way up it feels like you can reach out and touch the mountain. Bring a sweater, it is much colder up there. In winter you may even find snow on the top.

The kids will love the Palm Springs oasis Water park. It is one of the best I have ever seen, with so many things to do,waterwise: Water slides, Freefall slides, Wave pool, Body and board surfing, Inner-tubbing and a squirt park for the little ones. A tour of a windmill ranch is interesting, educational and also fun for young and old. Of course Palm Springs is also known for another activity, loved by those of all ages, shopping. El Paseo is one of the most popular places for spending, with it's fine boutiques, fashion plazas, antique shops and galleries. Across the highway is the Westfield Shopping town. ( formerly the Palm Desert Centre) Palm Canyon Drive is known for the Desert Fashion Plaza and the newer Mercada Plaza as well as many fine small shops.

There are many smaller less known malls as desert development continues. Also, we must not forget Home Depot and Eagle Hardware, hangout for the male of the species and Costco for family shopping.

You see Palm Springs is much much more!!
