These are 1998 rates Special Events Molokai Style ****On the third Saturday in May, the Molokai Visitor's Association presents "Moloka'i Ka Hula Piko" A Celebration of the Birth of Hula on Molokai. This is attended not only by locals but by many visitors from around the world. Besides being a tribute to the hula,it is also a day of Hawaiian music, crafts, storytelling and food. It is an opportunity to share and spend a day with the people of Molokai. Other events and activities are on throughout the week of the festival. In September there is the Na Wahine O Ke Kai Woman's outrigger canoe championship Molokai to Oahu. A tough often rough watercourse. requiring expertise and luck. In October the famous Moloka'i Hoe Men's Moloka'i to Oahu outrigger canoe championship is held. Molokai to Oahu. This famous race, brings teams from many countries and requires a great deal of skill and luck to finish this rough course. Things to Do Golf, The Ironwood Hills Golf Course, is situatated in Kala'e, at an altitute of 1200 feet, so the temperature is pleasant. It has nine holes and is good for walking, although carts are available. Kaluakoi Golf Club ( See Kaluakoi resort) Tennis, swimming, surfing, snorkeling, spear fishing, skin diving, deep sea fishing, surf trolling, whale watching during season, sailing, kayaking, hunting. sun tanning,, bicycling, (rentals available) hiking, walking, sight seeing, camping or just sitting under a tree reading a good book.
