THE JOURNEY: For Mary Ellen Bradshaw © Roy Rouser
May 28, 2004
The following poem was written and read by Roy Rouser, a close family friend, at Mary Ellen's Celebration of Life on April 24, 2004. To wake --- upon your mother's chest...
To feel her heart within her breast...
To know...this is where you belong...
How right the world...There is no wrong; To see the blossoms in the wind...
To feel the sun upon your skin...
To hear a bird give you It's song...
How right the world...See not the wrong; To taste the fruit born by the tree...
To know you love...what 'ere you see...
To learn the measures from beyond...
How right the world...Feel not the wrong; To try your best and grasp success...
To cry a tear at someone's loneliness...
To go forth---righteous, bold and strong...
How right the world...Beware - the wrong; To live your life with zest and grace...
To shelter someone within your space...
To care for nature---as you move along...
How right the world...Correct the wrong; To quietly prepare - your precious time and place...
To gently render up - your worldly space...
To be fondly remembered by those who come along...
How right the world...There is no wrong. Roy Rouser
