· Could you describe what your Website is all about?

Our website represents the home page of the Interuniversitary Center of Acoustics and Musical Researches, Bologna' office, Italy. It is concerning researches on musical instruments, room acoustics and psycho-acoustics (perception of sound quality) The musical instruments we have already studied are violins, flutes, trumpets, cellos, guitars.

· Do you have any tips for beginning violin players &/or their parents; such as, renting vs. buying instruments, where to shop, practice advice, taking care of the instrument advice...

We host links to violinmakers, in Italy, that are co-working with us.

· Anything you'd care to add? What are your recommendations for achieving success in music?

Mostly to keep in mind music is quite different from noise. Sound quality of musical instruments, especially when it becomes necessary to repair soundboards or whatelse, will improve also performances and music.

The University of New Hampshire Violin Institute teaches violin making, repair and maintenance and bow making and repair. Our students are adults currently working in the field, looking towards changing their profession or developing skills for their own use and enjoyment.

· Do you have any tips for beginning violin players &/or their parents; such as renting vs. buying instruments, where to shop, practice advice, taking care of the instrument advice...

Musicians frequently take our classes to learn to repair or maintain their own violins or bows.

Our website describes the classes available this summer and give a biographical sketch of our instructors.
