Old Car Trader This monthly catalog holds some older vehicles, but stresses those from the 1950's to 1970's. It is an Auto Trader Magazines publication. A table of contents page would be helpful, as the catalog is confusingly laid out and very heavy on advertising (36 pages of advertising precede "page 1"). In the November, 2004 issue, the "contents" page, on "page 4," is actually a masthead and ad rate information page. This publication is larger than its sister magazine, Classic and Antique Trader (see above). Produced by Trader Publishing Co. NADA Guides This is a poor source for two reasons. You may get lucky and find what you want, but the odds are against you. First, They only cover model years back to 1946, and second, the years covered within that already limited range are further limited. For example, if you search Oldsmobiles, there is only one decade in which all the years of manufacture are covered: the 1960's. Consult the Website to find out if both your model and your year are covered before you buy an NADA guide. http://www.nadaguides.com Kelley Blue Book Not recommended for antiques, classics and collectibles. This famous source focuses on used cars of a very recent vintage. The book is good for only 18 years of historical reference, going back no further than 1986. But if the car of your interest is somehow within that range, this is definitely the place to begin. You can find the value of a car in that age range on their Website. The print version is used by most reputable used car dealers. http://www.kbb.com/ Automobile Appraisers & Associates If all else fails you still have the option of having a professional appraisal performed on your vehicle to determine its current value. This company has an extensive Website but manages to avoid revealing its fee structure. Competitors are probably available in your locale. http://www.autoappraise.net/
