The origin of the Vietnamese:The Myth of Con Ro^`ng Cha'u Tie^n

The Vietnamese believe that they are the result of the union of a dragon and a fairy( Con Ro^`ng Cha'u Tie^n). This year is the year of the dragon, Canh-Thi`nh; it is quite appropriate to examine the myth of their origin.

This myth is so powerful that despite its unscientific nature, it is still held strongly by most Vietnamese. It is found in the Vietnamese language, as in the term "Ddo^`ng-Ba`o" which means "born of the same womb", term Vietnamese use to call their compatriots. http://www.probe.net/~evad19/dragoncarvi...

King Minh therefore gave the northern territory to King Nghi and the South to Lo^c Tuc who became King Du+o+ng Vu+o+ng or the King of the South of the country of Xich Quyt also known as the country of the Red Demons.
