Geography of Vietnam:

Vietnam is in Southeastern Asia, with a coastline of 3,444 km, from the Gulf of Thailand, the Gulf of Tonkin, to the South China Sea. Vietnam is composed of different ethnic divisions : Vietnamese constitute 85% to 90% of the total number. The remaining is Chinese and Indians with 3% to 5%, the Montagnards such as the Muong, Thai, Meo, Khmer, Man, Cham constitute the rest. Different religions are practiced in Vietnam: There are the Buddhist, Confucianist, Taoist, Roman Catholic, and some other indigenous beliefs, Islam, Protestant.

The official language is Vietnamese but others can also be heard such as French, Chinese, English, Khmer, tribal languages (Mon-Khmer and Malayo-Polynesian).

Vietnam 's work force lists about 32.7 million, amongst the different occupations 65% are in agricultural and 35% in industrial and service areas (1990 est.) Some other large cities are Saigon (now known as Ho Chi Minh City) in the South and Hue( in the Center) and Hai Phong (in the North).
