Site Review "Dial Pad"

In all previous articles we discussed about the things related to voice or video communication. Now I'll start writing about the best sites going for video and voice communication, voice email, video email, PC-to-PC communication and best software, their specification, support and performance. But if I got anything related to video or voice communication, I'll publish it.

Dialpad is a voice communication, Java operated site that gives you opportunity to call any phone in U.S.A through your PC for free. DIALPAD.COM hits 2 million members in first 12 weeks. Now, Over 5,000,000 people are members in Dialpad service. This is a really a big achievement for them. With over 100 million minutes used by members to date, making free Internet phone calls has never been easier. The Company expects to spend $5 million in advertising and PR over the next 6 months to build brand awareness through online, radio, and outdoor promotional activities. It is engaged in discussions with over 250 different Internet companies for licensing and co-marketing. The site has very powerful control; I hardly seemed their server down for a day.

The company's business model is based on advertising and sponsorship revenues, along with licensing fees and backend revenue sharing with e-commerce and opt-in email partners. The company has already begun to generate ad revenues from its rotating banners on the Dialpad applet and Web site. Additional revenue will come this quarter from audio ad bumpers on the front and back end of all calls, and license fees for integrating Dialpad's One-Click Calling feature into yellow page and other portal, community, and content sites.

As I mentioned above that this site is JAVA operated. It has special applet, which is only meant for Java basis. This site takes very little time to download its applet on first visit. The downloading of the applet goes in the background but really takes little time to download. After downloading the applet, it asks you to choose to open the applet. The applet is scam or virus free and friendly in environment. The calls can only be made if you run this applet or let it be accessed. Otherwise you won't be able to place a call.

Advertisements are the main source of Dial Pad for earning money and the advertisement that comes are basically the sponsors of your calls. The advertisements download during your call and it doesn't cost any interruption in voice communication. The question arise is how they earn money? When the customer watches the commercial and it attracts him/her. He/She clicks on it and this click gives them money. Some site that require subscription and for every subscription they give away a money to the site. The site supports full/half duplex sound cards. But the sound comes just like half duplex mode.
