Role Of Digital CameraDigital Video Camera In Video Communication: Digital Video Camera used for Personal Computer is usually small in size and used for video communication (See video communication article for details about video communication). Digital camera works for many ways. It can be used for, Video- conference, video emails, spy, taking snaps, recording video, and as scanner. These mentioned uses are ordinary, but people are taking so many uses. Simplest video camera is used for only videoconference and has limited uses, but as we go for expensive video cameras, the functions get more complicated. Usually for video-communication requirements of 30 frames per seconds, but nowadays following cameras are available which support 60 frames per seconds. The camera that supports 60 frames per second records exactly like real video camera does. A digital camera has the same use as an ordinary camera, but the way it functions is different. A digital video camera is composed of three things named as digitizer, grabber, and optical scanner. These devices work as: Video Digitizer also called frame grabber. A device used in computer graphics that employs a video camera, rather than a scan head, to capture a video image, such as one from television or videotape, and store it in memory with the aid of a special-purpose circuit board. Video digitizers function like display adapters in reverse. A display adapter moves an image from memory to the display; a video digitizer records a displayed image and stores the information in memory in digital (bit) form. Most video digitizers can be attached to any video equipment that produces an RGB (red-green-blue) signal-the standard for video monitors-or an NTSC (National Television Standards Committee) signal-the standard for American television. Grabber, in computer science is a device for capturing data. Most commonly, the term refers to a special type of computer video memory that receives graphical image data from a video camera or another full-motion video source; the hardware that captures the data and puts it into memory is called a frame grabber or video digitizer. Also, software that takes a snapshot of the currently displayed screen image by transferring a portion of video memory to a file on disk is also due to grabber. Optical Scanner, a computer input device Input/Output Device that uses light-sensing equipment to scan paper or another medium, translating the pattern of light and dark (or color) into a digital signal that can be manipulated by either optical character recognition software or graphics software.
