The Art and Craft of Scriptwriting -- An Overview

It's even possible you're a playwright, or aspiring television writer, discouraged by the difficulties of entering that field and looking for a different means of breaking down the door.

The present links list site should have something for all of you. And future articles will feature some aspect of the elements, process, nature, and future of this form of writing.

For now, I'd like to ask you to consider a discussion of the following.

Just what IS the nature of commercial scriptwriting? And how does it differ from the writing of other fields?

How should we view commercial scriptwriters? As "just hacks?" Or can they be considered artists?

Or more to the point: Given the new technology -- has scriptwriting become negligible -- or emerged as more important?

You may answer any or all of these. There are NO right or wrong answers! In a few weeks, I'll comment on your responses -- and, of course, add my own point of view.

Until then, I'll look forward to being a fellow site surfer -- and receiving any links you may recommend. Do remember, as a user, you are the most important reason for this site. Let us know your needs. Any suggestions will be welcome.

Thank you in advance for your participation. I look forward to listening -- with my promise to not drift away!
