You and Your Editor


That's not to say that you must go into this blindly. Learn as much as you can on your own. There are a number of print resources on the new digital editing, plus a variety of internet sites and discussion groups covering different aspects.

In many production companies there will be an additional interface. Someone who is the interpreter between the client and the technical experts. Sometimes called an account executive, sometimes the producer or the head of creative services, this person is there to help you achieve your goals. Use them. A two-way flow of information which is understood by both interested parties is invaluable. Having someone to reduce the learning curve saves time, money, and heartache.
