Three Great Vegetarian CookbooksBecoming Vegetarian: The Complete Guide to Adopting a Healthy Vegetarian Lifestyle is a book like no other. If you are just beginning to explore a vegetarian diet, or even if you are already fully ensconced in an all plant-based way of eating, this book, written by three dieticians, is a nutrition encyclopedia full of information you need to know. As we are aware, there are dietary concerns with a vegetarian diet (with all diets really!) and we may wonder if we are getting enough nutrients. This book pinpoints the nutritional areas that may be especially challenging to vegetarians and tells you how to deal with those challenges. I'm lactose-intolerant and the list of non-dairy sources of calcium was vital for me. Protein, fat, fiber, vitamins, antioxidants, myths regarding vegetarianism, etc., etc.,etc. are all discussed clearly and concisely in a non-preachy manner. There are charts, graphs, recipes and great sections on vegetarian child nutrition, what to cook for dinner and how to handle the "Why don't you eat meat?" question you are bound to be asked eventually. This wonderful book is the real deal and a must-have for any cooking library.
