GOD OF GRIM is Matthew's story. Matthew was adopted into a human family, grew to maturity not knowing what he was. When vampire puberty set in, the feelings, hungers, and physical changes almost drove him mad, but he overcame them to attain his goal of being a doctor. Then he met Dulcie and learned that he wasn't crazy, that he was a vampire. An Immaculate Vampire. Immaculates are born vampires, not hybrids who become vampires after being bitten. In THE IMMACULATE Matthew meets his twin brother Adam. Together, they fulfill the prophecy that an Immaculate will kill the evil First Father, the last surviving Original, one of the alien race who came to earth eons ago.
Now, eight years later, Matthew's life is full of love for his wife Dulcie and a passion for his work as a hematologist, studying both human and vampire blood diseases. His brother, Adam, has become the head of the Network, which rules the vampires. When Jay Ashford offers Matthew a chance to work at an all vampire research facility, Matthew is tempted but refuses. He enjoys working among mortals and he loves his job. Besides he doesn't like or trust Ashford. Suddenly his whole world crumbles as he is accused of tampering with test results to gain approval of an unsafe drug which results in several people dying. What is worse, he is accused of profiting by investing in the drug company. Angry Matthew quits the hospital.
