nothing of her background. Then there is Daniel, a vampire hunter who has given up
hunting vampires because he has fallen in love with her. There is a potentially
interesting story that is never fully told. And Eric, another vampire who haunts Melody's
dreams and wants her to join his vampire family. I suspect he too suffers from Melody's
malady, the inability to become truly engaged with life. For he is a threat to Melody, but
we don't really understand his motives or desires. Handsome and with the ability to
have any woman he wants, he is basically bored with life. The only vampires who aren't
are the newly made female vampires who are murderously jealous. Perhaps this author
portrays too well the emptiness of the life of a vampire, I could have wished for a story
that grabbed more of my attention.
