vampire series hasn't gotten the attention it deserves! Her vampire heroin is the 'kick
ass chic' all girls dream they want to be, or would be if given the powers of the vampire.
I don't want to give the impression I only read vampire and horror stories. The last book I finished reading was "Memoirs of a Geisha" by Arthur Golden. I love all kinds of vampires and have been doing research concerning vampires for
eleven years as a hobby. I must say I love Ann Rice's vampires, but I identify more
with Marius, Armand, and Pandora than Lestat or his adorable Louis.

BOOK REVIEW Ten nights in the life of a female vampire. If the author hoped to portray the futility of such a life, were nothing exists beyond feeding and the seeking of sensation to drive away the unrealized pain, Katharina Katt succeed brilliantly. Melody Chalis lives, but she is missing the ability to truly feel. Unlike the current trend in vampire novels, she doesn't emote about her current life, she neither revels nor despairs in her existence She exists. She is satisfied. She is without conscience. In saying that, one would picture someone evil, but no, if she lacks the ability for kindness, she also lacks the ability to hate. For her, life is a never ending series of nights of feeding, not just on blood, but emotions, energy. Sometimes it is love and passion, sometimes fear, sometimes it is even the killing lust of an abuser. And sex. A FEMALE VAMPIRE is erotica, with a thin veneer of a vampire story. Katharina Katt is extraordinarily imaginative, and her female vampire runs the entire gambit of sexual experiences. There is most certainly something here to titillate everyone, no matter what their fetish. Yet she managed to keep the reader from feeling they were being exploited, that this was nothing more than a catalog cheap pornographic thrills. A FEMALE VAMPIRE had the potential to be a very interesting vampire story, unfortunately, it did not live up to the potential. In the end we know very little about the vampires powers other than they burn and die in the sun, can enter another's dreams, can leap from roof to roof and jump down from tall buildings without being hurt, heal quickly, and can change their physical appearance to resemble an image they draw out of their victim's mind. We do not know how Melody became a vampire, how old she is,
