WINTER'S ORPHANS is a dark fairy story in an early Industrial Revolution setting. It
centers around a young textile mill worker, Mina Cole, who discovers that her father
wasn't human--he was fae, and a dark fae at that. She has to not only learn to deal
with these tremendous powers that are his legacy, but also evade the Seelie Court, the
light fae, who want to wipe out anyone with the powers of winter and night. All while
holding down a job so she doesn't get sent to debtors' prison. ;-) This book has won
the 2001 Dream Realm Award, the 2002 Eppie Award, and the Word Weaving Award
for Excellence. You can find WINTER'S ORPHANS at http://www.novelbooksinc.com
TYRANT MOON is my quest fantasy in a Bronze Age setting. The heroine, the Arrow
that Flies the Farthest, is a barbarian warrior woman from a tribe of nomadic horsemen.
In order to stop a rogue wizard, she has to team up with Thraxis, a mage who is a
complete pacifist. Due to a death curse, Thraxis only has about six months to live at
the beginning of the book, and that time gets shorter whenever he uses his magic. So
they not only have to learn to cooperate, but also stop the rogue before time runs out.

Are you working on a sequel to WOLFKIN? Tell us about it.
I am currently at work on two more books in the series. In Book 2, Yozerf must go to
the one place on earth he never wants to go again: home. I think of this as the
downward spiral book, because the situation consistently goes from bad to worse for all
of the characters throughout the novel, and they all have to face some things about
themselves and each other that they would probably rather avoid. Book 3 is the long
climb back into the light. Yozerf finally gets over some of his trust issues, and really
comes into his own in ways that he would never have predicted.

I hope that my readers enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoy writing them. The
big perk of being a writer is meeting all these amazing, fascinating characters and
sharing their journeys, and my greatest hope is that I can adequately convey the
excitement and passion that I feel when I'm writing. Every time a reader sends me an
