always joke that there characters need immense stress counseling with all that I put them through. The books are emotional as well, with men that aren't afraid to show their love for each other. I also deal with current topics in the books --AIDS, cancer, polio, arthritis, homosexuality, rape --but I try to let it be in the background, and not beat morals over anyone's heads.

Something I read about you said you live in the Pacific Northwest, with your husband, and children, a wide assortment of animals and "a forest full of elves, fairies, and magic." May I ask where in the Northwest? Do you truly live near the forest?

I live near Seattle, and yes, there is a forest in my backyard. We have over an acre of land, smack dab in the middle of the fourth largest city in the state of Washington. We have left a lot of that land in trees, for the animals. I have had a coyote in my backyard, a raccoon scratching at my patio door, a deer grazing on the hillside outside my kitchen, red-tail hawks nesting in the snags, quail raising their little families in the garden, and a host of squirrels, birds and who knows what else out there. I also love the forest. I love the redwoods in Southern Oregon the most, with the rain forest on the Washington peninsula coming in second.

Where did you came by your fascination for fantasy? Did you believe in fairies and such as a child? I know I did. My woods were filled with such creatures. Were yours? Strangely I grew up in Southern Oregon just south of Crater Lake. We went camping and fishing a lot when I was a kid. And I always seemed to make up stories in my head when I was in the woods. I still do. I have always believed in the fae and the mystery of magic.

Is there anything else you would like to tell the readers?

Read my books. LOL Not really. Except that I still love to create. I am hoping to go to Florida and take a boat through the everglades this summer. That will most likely show up in the books somewhere.

BOOK REVIEW
A Gift of Blood

The Gift of Blood is a departure from the vampire romances I have been reading lately. First, it's not really a romance, but a love story. It is the story of Jaeger's love for Rhiannon and all the trials and tribulations that he suffers because of that love.
