Tara Manderino - Soul Guardian

Tara Manderino has written an excellent first novel, the story of a vampire looking for redemption.

According to Tara, she resides in her native town in southwestern Pennsylvania with her husband, two sons and a pet rabbit. In a previous life - before children - she assisted in operating the Marketing / Public Relations Department for a local health center where she coordinated and managed all agency publications. She currently spends her time freelance writing, working on novels and volunteering as a school librarian, encouraging another generation of readers. When not behind the computer, you can find Tara acting as chauffeur to her sons, or cultivating bleacher-butt as she cheers on her sons at various sporting events. Besides enjoying a good romance novel, Tara seeks ways to avoid housecleaning (Dust bunnies have a right to live!), and thinks her crockpot is her best buddy.

INTERVIEW

How old are your sons?

Fourteen going on 25 and 12.

And is your rabbit a lop ear? Is he house broken? I had a friend who had house broken rabbits that were seldom in their cage.

Peter is a dwarf lop ear. Dwarf is the key word here -- he's the size of a small dog, actually larger than some small dogs. *G* When my younger son was in 4th grade the class pet was a rabbit. The kids chose the name -- Peter -- and took care of him. Peter did visit our house quite a bit. He was used to being free and running around the classroom. When the teacher moved to first grade, she took Peter with her. Unfortunately, Peter was not very happy since he could no longer run around as much as he wanted, and the little kids tended to pet/poke him. At the end of the year, the teacher asked my son if he wanted him. What could I say? We are now the proud owners of a huge dwarf rabbit who cannot eat lettuce because it upsets his stomach and is very limited on the carrots for the same reason. But, he does like to snuggle with whoever is laying on the floor. So, the answer to one of the questions is that he is cage trained when he doesn't have an upset stomach, and as long as there's someone in the house he does roam free. He's eaten through too many computer cords to trust him unconditionally!

I found some book reviews and a defunct column on doll making at Suite 101. Was that you? If so what other hobbies do
