David and Aimee Thurlo

Second Sunrise
a smuggling ring are found murdered. Lee and Diane are put on the case, undercover as rival jewelry suppliers, hoping to discover how turquoise and silver are being smuggled into the US. Lee and Diane soon learn that the group of smugglers are also skinwalkers, which greatly complicate their case. Somehow, they must destroy the shapeshifters and still manage to make a case the police can accept. First, they must overcome the problem that Lee smells different from humans, a scent that attracts shapeshifters.

Adding to the problems, they are informed to be on the look out for Elka, the sister of Hans Gruber. Elka, a known terrorist, has entered the United States. Elka may have been hired to assassinate the president during his visit to White Sands or she may be out to revenge the murder of her brother and husband by targeting one of the high ranking CIA officials who was involved with the death of her husband in the Middle East. That Elka has revenge on her mind is clear, and surely Lee and Diane are in her sights as well.

This is another exciting adventure. A well-crafted police procedural with the added bonus of being a vampire novel. Aimée and David have added some interesting twists to the vampire legend. A definite winner, well worth reading.
