Sometimes, whether it's because of a special romantic getaway or just wanting to try somewhere different, it's nice to find a unique nights lodging. Although I have never personally stayed at any of these locations, I will be shortly and will write a more detailed account up as I go. If you stay at any, please write and share your experience as well!
The Castle Castles have always had a lure to the romantic at heart and this bed and breakfast in Mt. Savage, Maryland sounds wonderful for a weekend away. It's a replica of Craig Castle in Scotland. This elegant lodging boasts six rooms, some with four poster beds and a delightful breakfast that could include freshly baked peach pancakes.
Chesapeake Lighthouse B&B This B&B in Annapolis, MD offers three queen bed rooms in a working lighthouse. Fox Lodge With October approaching and the time of ghosts and witches this sounded like a perfect place to stay. Fox Lodge is an authentic gothic revival residence in Delaware. The beautiful architecture of this place is reason enough to go but they have the added allure of being haunted by a few different ghosts if the accolades are to be believed. Fulton Steamboat Inn In Lancaster, PA you have the opportunity to stay in an actual steamboat which is situated on own lake. No fear of giving up comfort on the four decks of this boat however as it is complete with an indoor atrium pool, jacuzzi and fitness room! The Homestead A retreat down in Hot Springs, VA. Fairly pricey, but offers everything from spa and salon services to golf and horseback riding. Also the only place I've ever seen offering falconry classes with the added fun of having your picture taken with the falcon afterwards. The Oaks This waterfront B&B offers a relaxing weekend away with many outdoor activities. You can fish or crab off the dock, canoe or play some volleyball. The thought that it's supposedly haunted by the ghost of a friendly innkeeper is just an added plus to make it a more unique adventure. River Ridge Guest Ranch Ranch in Bath County, VA that offers a luxurious safari style tent camping experience. You have to see these tents with their wood furniture to truly understand that this is not your usual camping experience. You're on 300 mountaintop acres with the chance to ride horses, go on a haywagon ride, fish, swim or just watch for wildlife! Go To Page: 1 2
