Her voice was un-extraordinary, except when she would demonstrate some of the many voices she had used during her career as a voice-over artist in radio and television. The voices ranged from a crying baby to a small, whiny child to a sultry temptress (trust me, she didn't demonstrate that one very often). Her ability to inspire students, coach them, listen to them, scold them, tease them, and in general mother them, is what made her, in my mind, an extraordinary urban educator.
