Aries

Symbol: The Ram

Polarity: Masculine/Assertive

Quadriplicity (Quality): Cardinal

Triplicity (Element): Fire

Planetary Ruler: Mars

House Rulership: The First House

Part of the Body: Aries rules the head.

Keyphrase: I Am

Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac. Aries is associated with births, beginnings, and new adventures. Wherever Aries lies in your chart will describe where you are a self-starter, what you get excited about, and where you are looking for fun. Aries likes action, so there will usually be quite a bit of this in the area of your chart that lands in Aries. Aries, being Cardinal, Fire, and Assertive, tends to be energetically oriented and always looking for something new to begin.

The other side of Aries is that this is not an area where you will think things through before jumping in. Aries tends to leap, then look, so to speak. While Aries is a great self-starter, it will usually rule an area of your life where you have a hard time focusing on finishing a task. Aries also tends to be the most competitive side of our personality if it is not kept in check. As with all the signs, there are always planetary placements and other signs to balance this out!

Taurus

Symbol: The Bull

Polarity: Feminine/Receptive

Quadriplicity (Quality): Fixed

Triplicity (Element): Earth

Planetary Ruler: Venus

House Rulership: The Second House

Part of the Body: Taurus rules the neck and throat.

Keyphrase: I Have

Taurus, being fixed earth, tends to be the steadiest, most reliable sign in the zodiac. This is where you have your feet planted firmly on the ground. Taurus will say something about where your value system is most important to you. Taurus shows where you are most dependable, and where you may have great patience to finish a task. It also will show something about how you feel about material things (money, decoration, bric-a-brac, etc.) and your practicality. Taurus is also usually related to sensuality as well.

The other side of Taurus is that this sign can be almost completely immovable. Once stuck in a habit or way of thinking, you may get very stubborn in this area of your life. Also, Taurus is notorious for its tendency to be quite jealous.

Gemini

Symbol: The Twins

Polarity: Masculine/Assertive

Quadriplicity (Quality): Mutable

Triplicity (Element): Air

Planetary Ruler: Mercury

House Rulership: The Third House

Part of the Body: Gemini rules the hands.

Keyphrase: I Think

Gemini is the first sign that has a sense of duality. Symbolized by the twins, Gemini shows where you can handle several tasks at one time. Actually, you probably won't be happy in the area of your life where Gemini sits if you don't have several things going on at once! Gemini craves diversity, as it shows an area of intelligence in your life. Gemini will also show where your humanitarian concerns are often centered (along with Aquarius), and where you don't like to have to conform to others' standards. One of your greatest strengths here is your versatility and openness to change.

I have a Gemini friend, and she can be unreliable...but that's just who she is! I love her. She's also pretty easygoing, which makes it nice.

Another great article, Nancy!
