When a clergyperson is finally voted into full connection by the clergy session, it is a high moment, the culmination of years of education and preparation. However, this is not the end, only a step in their continuing formation. The formation and education will go on throughout his or her career. The whole Church needs to be increasingly aware of this relatively new emphasis in our ideas of how a clergyperson should be educated.
