Mar 22, 2004 - © Mark Turnbull

and lives in Sunderland, in the North East of England. He is currently a team manager for an electricity company which he started work with, after leaving school, as an office junior. He enjoys painting watercolours, some of which he has sold, going to the gym, socialising with friends, writing and reading history. Mark has always been passionately interested in the English Civil War and the 17th century, which prompted him to join the Sealed Knot. The events of the Civil War stir intense views in him, even though it was over 350 years ago. In the Sealed Knot, Mark re-enacted battles from the Civil War, which gave him a fantastic outlook into what it was like back then. He has also accumulated a library of books about the period and is particularly interested in King Charles I. Mark has written articles for The Local History Press, The English Civil War Times, The Historical Novel Society and www.Magweb.com. He is currently editor of the Historical Novel Society's emailed newsletter and has written an unpublished historical novel set in the 17th century. Mark is the course writer of King or Parliament? - The English Civil War at SuiteU! Why not join him there!
