That probably is because no one wants you to find it.
Dulce, New Mexico, has long been rumored to be the physical site of a secret U.S. government laboratory. There has been plenty written about the underground facility reportedly located beneath the mountain known as Archuleta Mesa. A casual search on the Internet will uncover a few dozen references to the alleged facility. Most are confusing at best unless you have a background on the subject and know what the Internet resources are talking about.
In a nutshell, research on the subject will reveal several common claims about Dulce and what is really going on there. First, you must consider where the alleged facility is physically located. New Mexico seems to be the U.S. Government's playground. From White Sands Proving Grounds and Sandia Laboratory to the top secret Los Alamos National Laboratory facility, New Mexico is full of all things military and secret. Dulce is located about 45 miles due north of Los Alamos lab as the crow flys. There is a rumored network of underground tunnels that allegedly connect the two facilities.
According to once-classified U.S. documents (unclassified in 1998), the construction of a secret laboratory was initiated by the U.S. Government at the end of World War II. The purpose of the facility was to continue research begun by Nazi scientists during the cource of the second World War. As the story goes, several "brilliant" German scientists were granted immunity from prosecution at Nuremberg in exchange for an agreement to continue their research in a U.S. government facility. The project, termed "Operation Paperclip", was intended to provide biological research and development to the U.S. Government.
Dulce allegedly is the site for that facility.
Monitoring activity in and around Dulce in recent weeks and months tends to indicate there is indeed a great degree of unusual activity going on there.
First, you must understand that Archuleta Mesa is located in the middle of nowhere. There aren't any major highways leading into the area; no obvious landing strips or airports. Yet there has always been a steady, albiet slow, degree of military vehicular activity around the region -- which is unusual considering there isn't any military installation anywhere in the vicinity. Add to that a number of mysterious aircraft sightings; conventional aircraft, military aircraft, black helicopters -- all flying at low altitudes and often without the customary (and required) running lights.
